QU students hold fashion show with recycled materials

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — In honor of Earth Day today, students at Quinnipiac University put together a special kind of fashion show.

Dresses shown were made out of recycled items. Involved in the spring collection, paper, coffee filters, bottles, fabric. The idea behind this is to push “sustainable” fashion. This event today was part of a course offered at the school called “eco-fashion.”

“Recycling is not just, you throw the bottle in the right trash. It’s using what’s around you and creating a piece of art,” said Hanna Hejmowski.

This is the third year the university has held its eco-fashion show.
