Suspect arrested in Bridgeport for February homicide

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A murder suspect was taken into custody by the Fugitive Task Force in Bridgeport Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.

The arrest stems from a February 11th homicide. 29-year-old Javoni Patton was killed near the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Connecticut Avenue. 32-year-old Bernard Brandon was located at a residence on the west side of the city.

Brandon is charged with murder, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, carrying pistol without a permit, and weapon in motor vehicle. His bond is set at $1,000,000.

There were 19 homicides in Bridgeport last year.
