Wallingford man killed in car accident in Branford

BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Branford police say a man was killed Friday when he lost control of his car and hit a tree.  Just after 12:45 p.m. police say Michael Deliberto, 33, of Wallingford was driving southbound on Leetes Island Road.  Police say he was going at a high rate of speed when the car left the road and hit a tree.  Deliberto was the only passenger in the car.  People who saw what happened pulled him out of the car before it burst into flames.  Paramedics tried to save him but couldn’t do it.
