New Haven police search for suspect in Shop ‘N Save robbery

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Will you “Chill.” That’s what police say a store clerk told an armed robber when he demanded cash Wednesday night as she was closing the Shop ‘N Save on Dixwell Avenue in New Haven Tuesday night at 11:58pm.

New Haven police say the crook told her “Give me the money.” She simply said “Chill” and handed him some cash. The shop worker then told police she followed the robber out the door as he took off. She told police he spotted her and pointed his pistol at her feet. Police say the two exchanged words and he took off.

The suspect is described as being between 25-30 years of age, muscular and stands over six feet tall. He was caught on the shop’s surveillance video wearing a matching hunter green sweatsuit.
