New London NAACP hosts town hall discussion on heroin crisis

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — New London NAACP and religious leaders will host a town hall discussion Wednesday night on the heroin epidemic that plagues Connecticut cities and towns.

The focus will be on new initiatives and crisis intervention services for people addicted to opiates and their families.

The town hall discussion will be held at Saint John’s Christian Church on Shennecossett Road in Groton from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Here are a list of guests invited:  Reverend Joseph Coleman, Pastor of Saint John’s Christian Church; Mariam Delphin-Rittmon, DMHAS Commissioner; Dora Schriro, Commissioner CT State Police; Michael Regan, New London County States Attorney; Marian Galbraith, Mayor of Groton; Michael Passero, Mayor of New London; Senator Murphy’s Office; Charles Grady, CT DOJ; Groton City Police; Groton Town Police; New London Police; Stonington Police; SCADD, Backus and Lawrence & Memorial Hospitals.
