Lockdown lifted at UHart campus, police need help identifying suspect


HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — University of Hartford officials have lifted a campus-wide lockdown following a report that an armed person entered a room in a residence hall.

Police are now asking for help identifying the suspect who they say attempted an armed robbery on campus. The school released surveillance pictures showing four men entering Reeves residence hall around 5:40 p.m.

Police say the suspect in the middle, wearing the black sweatshirt with green sneakers and red laces is the one who allegedly showed a black pistol.

The lockdown was lifted just before 6:30 Thursday evening. A police presence will remain around B complex as the investigation continues

The suspect is now believed to have left the campus in a 2010-2012 gold Chevy Malibu and is headed south on Bloomfield Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
