Police say driver in Waterbury fatal head-on crash had cocaine

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – Police investigating a fatal head-on crash in Waterbury now say one of the victims had cocaine in the car.  The crash on Wednesday killed Brian Green, 28 of Waterbury and Mary Gabriele, 59 of Plymouth.  Police say Green’s car crossed the center line as he was driving south on Thomaston Avenue and hit Gabriele’s car head on.  Police say they found two bags of cocaine in Green’s car with about a half ounce of cocaine.  Green was thrown from the car on impact.  Both cars were towed from the scene to have a mechanical inspection.
