HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Crews with the Metropolitan District Commission are working to repair a water main break on Victoria Road in Hartford.

A water main on Victoria Road shut down, leaving 29 homes on the block between George Street and Campfield Avenue without water for the earlier part of Friday morning. Kerry Martin with the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) says the main stopped working around 2:30 a.m.

Martin also tells News 8 that the water main was installed in 1927, but that it will just be repaired at this time, and not replaced. Repairs are expected to be complete with service restored between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. Until that time, Victoria Road is closed between George Street and Campfield Avenue.
