National Foster Care Month begins in May

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — May marks National Foster Care Month. According to the Department of Children and Families, 41 percent of children who are in state care are living with relatives or someone they know.

The state of Connecticut wants to create public awareness about foster care.

Jordan’s Furniture will host a special Heart Gallery video display of children who are waiting to be adopted. The opening celebration will happen on May 18th.

On May 26th, Mr. D’s in Wallingford will host a special foster care recruitment event with State Comptroller Kevin Lembo, who is a licensed foster parent will talk with people who are considering becoming a foster parent.
