Oakdale man charged for not calling 911

OAKDALE, Conn. (WTNH) — An Oakdale man is facing charges for allegedly not calling for help when his neighbor overdosed on opiates.

Police arrested 55-year-old Michael Bedard on Thursday.

Investigators say, in early February, he *waited* for more than an hour before calling 911.

The friend died three days later at the hospital.

Bedard is charged with negligent homicide.

He’s is due at the Norwich Superior Court house on May 12 of next month.

He was released on a promise to appear in court where bond is scheduled to be set.
