Officers raise money for Special Olympics

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Some West Haven police officers are on the job, but doing something you might not expect. They’re working at Duffy’s Tavern in West Haven, helping out servers at the restaurant.

Their tips are going to support Special Olympics of Connecticut. For one officer, the day is personal, she has a child who competes in the games. “There’s not a lot out there for kids with special needs, so having this to take him to and meet friends that he’s still friends with 15 years later. It’s a wonderful experience,” said Officer Audrey Jefferson.

The officers will be at Duffy’s Tavern until 9:00 Friday night if you would like to head out and have a meal and support the Special Olympics.
