MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Authorities are investigating an accident involving a person who was struck and killed by a train Friday.
A Metro-North spokesperson tells News 8 that Metro-North service between Bridgeport and New Haven was shut down due to the accident. It has since resumed. Amtrak trains in the area are being held due to incident and investigation. Customers should anticipate delays 30 to 45 minute delays.
An Amtrak spokesperson says Acela Express train 2158, traveling from Washington, D.C. to Boston, struck a person in the area of the Milford station, approximately 11 miles west of New Haven. No injuries were reported from the 297 passengers on board the train.

Amtrak will work together with Metro-North as Metro-North oversees that area of the track.
