PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – A Plainville school teacher has been put on leave after what police are calling a “potential criminal incident” involving a student.   Neither police nor the school system are releasing many details, but Plainfield police say they got a call from school administrators about an “incident” that they say happened “outside of Plainfield Schools and school activities.”

Plainfield Police issued a news release that states, “During the investigation information was developed that led to a separate potential criminal incident involving a faculty member of the Plainfield School District and a student.  School administration and the Superintendent’s Office were immediately notified of the alleged incident and immediately worked with the Plainfield Police Department to ensure the safety of the students. ”

Police say because of the nature of the incident, no further details can be provided.
