NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — More than 400 people came out in New Haven Sunday to support the March of Dimes.
The March of Dimes “March for Babies” honors those who are born healthy, as well as babies who need special care. The money raised from Sunday’s walk raises money to support wellness programs, research grants, and family support programs.
“It’s important because we really want to make sure that every mom goes into their pregnancy healthy to begin with and then at the end they have a healthy pregnancy because there’s nothing better than going home with a healthy baby,” said Erin Jones with the March of Dimes.
Organizers raised $75,000. There was also a Run for Babies 5K in East Hartford Sunday.
