State Police bloodhound finds missing Woodbury woman

WOODBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – An elderly Woodbury woman is recovering after spending several hours lost in some thick brush near her home.  Police say the 89 year old woman who has Alzheimer’s, was reported missing around 5:40 p.m. Sunday.  Troopers searched the area around her home but found nothing.  They asked to bring in the State Police helicopter, but low clouds and fog made it impossible to fly.  Just before 8 p.m. State Police bloodhound “Texas” was brought to the scene.  About 40 minutes later they found the woman in some thick brush about a quarter mile from her home.  Police say she was disoriented and suffering from hypothermia.  She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
