What to buy in May; what to save for later

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) It’s the start of a new month and so far, rainy weather is what we’ve been dealt. This may be a good week to stay dry indoors and maybe get some of your spring shopping done!

While you’re dodging the Spring showers this month, there are some sweet sales that may brighten your mood! Memorial Day is at the end of the month and Nerd Wallet says you should starting seeing great deals on indoor furniture and patio furniture.

If you’ve been putting off buying the new coffee pot, now may be the time to get it. You’ll likely find a great deal on small kitchen appliances.  That Spring apparel has been on the racks for sometime now, so those are going to be going on sale if they aren’t already!

Ok, what not to buy?

Nerd Wallet says you may be better to wait and upgrade that iPhone in September when a new iPhone7 is expected to be unveiled.  Also, skip the home electronics. If you can hold off, those TV’s and laptops can usually be found at a much better price in November as we get closer.

Here’s another look at what is good to buy this month, and I’m also going to add vacuums to the list. New models typically come out in June, so the stores may be planning this month to unload the old ones.

And don’t forget about “May the 4th”be with you. May 4th is Star Wars Day and for all you fans out there, there are always Star Wars themed deals
