STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut say a North Carolina man charged with throwing almost a pound of cocaine out of a car during a chase on Interstate 95 was convicted in a 1994 drug murder.

The Connecticut Post reports (http://bit.ly/1QTj21O ) that 41-year-old Michael Lundy was ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bond Thursday on cocaine possession charges.

Prosecutors say Lundy was an accessory to a 1994 drug-related killing in Raleigh, North Carolina. He served 15 years in prison.

State police say a chase ensued when they tried to pull over the car, which they say was driven by 26-year-old Antonio Freeland of North Carolina. He is being held on a $350,000 bond. They say it ended when the car crashed into another vehicle.

Both men are due in court June 6.
