Mother’s Day Do’s and Don’ts: Pop Expert Lisa Durden

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Pop Culture expert Lisa Durden shares her “straight, no chaser” look at the do’s and don’ts of Mother’s Day.

DON’T: Take your mother out to dinner and ask her to split the bill.

DO: Give your mother a nice piece of Jewelry for Mother’s Day.

DON’T: Give your mother an empty Mother’s Day card saying “I love you.” Always include some cash or a spa day coupon. She’ll appreciate it.

DO: Bring her flowers. Don’t have them delivered especially if you’re within driving distance.

DON’T: Buy your mother pots, pans, dishes, cutlery or household items for Mother’s Day. Sure she might be able to use it, but it definitely sends her the wrong message.
