OSHA investigating East Lyme tree worker death

EAST LYME, Conn. (WTNH) — A 32-year-old man has died in a chainsaw accident in East Lyme, according to Connecticut State Police.

Connecticut State Police Troopers say they were called to a location in East Lyme just before 1 p.m. Friday for a reported occupational accident. Troopers say a tree worker’s chainsaw struck a power line.

Donald Rutty, 32, was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Troopers say OSHA is investigating the accident. No additional information was available.
