(WTNH) — Some Internal Revenue Service impostors are leading another threatening phone scam targeting Connecticut residents, especially seniors.

The Connecticut Better Business Bureau says these scammers claim that the victim owes money and must pay immediately, or they will be arrested.

If you get one of these calls, contact the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Trade Commission immediately. You can reach them at the following numbers:

Internal Revenue Service: 800-829-1040

Federal Trade Commission: 202-326-2222

Experts ask you to warn your family and friends about similar calls to protect them.
