2 injured in New Haven overnight shooting

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people are recovering after police say they were shot on Arthur Street overnight.

New Haven officers were called to 2 Arthur Street just after 3 a.m. Saturday for a reported shooting. Officers found two victims, 29-year-old Wade Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip, and 22-year-old Taylor Barnes suffering from a gunshot wound to her stomach. Both are from New Haven. Police say Johnson and Barnes were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Johnson was treated and released. Barnes went through surgery and is now listed in serious, but stable condition.

According to police, witnesses say there was an argument involving several people, including the victims, before the shooting happened. Detectives are still working to figure out what exactly happened.

No suspect description or suspect vehicle have been provided. Officials say they have been looking over surveillance video, but have yet to find anything helpful.
