Person seriously injured in West Hartford scooter accident

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Waterbury man was seriously injured after his scooter crashed into an SUV on Saturday.

West Hartford police, fire, and EMS were called to South Main Street and Meadowbrook Road after a motor scooter, being driven by 26 year old Kyle Barry, crashed into a Toyota Highlander. Barry was taken to St. Francis Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police say Barry was traveling north on South Main Street when he lost control, crossed the yellow lines, and crashed into the Toyota. The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota, 59 year old Kevin Farmer of West Hartford, was not injured.

Officials say they are still investigating the crash.
