HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Connecticut Judicial Branch announced earlier this month that 113 branch employees would be laid off. On Monday, officials released a detailed breakdown of which positions would be eliminated, and where.

On May 5th, the state announced that an additional 113 juducial employees would be laid off, bringing the total number of Judicial employee layoffs to 239. In Monday’s report, Program Manager of Communications, Rhonda Stearley-Hebert, wrote that the 239 total layoffs so far does not represent a final number.

Stearley-Hebert noted that the layoffs were seniority based on union contracts, so some locations had more layoffs than others. In response, the Connecticut Judicial Branch is expected to shift other employees to cover the staffing gaps.
