Connecticut ranked worst summer travel destination

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTNH) — A study ranking “Best Summer Travel Destinations” finds three Connecticut regions at the very bottom of 80 of the country’s largest metropolitan areas.

Pooling data rating travel costs and hassles, weather conditions, local costs, attractions, and activities, three Connecticut metropolitan areas were ranked with the lowest averages. Out of 80 of the largest American Cities, the New Haven-Milford region is 79th, and the Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk region is last, at 80th. Slightly more favorably, the Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford region rings in at 66th.

In the standalone data sets, the New Haven-Milford and Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk regions are tied in 78th place for Highest Travel Costs and Most Hassles. The Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk area, additionally, is ranked 78th for Fewest Attractions.
