NYC transit offers alternate routes around East Harlem delays

NEW YORK (WTNH) — Tuesday’s East Harlem fire led to major traffic headaches for commuters going in and out of Manhattan.

New York transit has released instructions for commuters as an alternate service in and out of New York City.

  • Hudson Line customers can take train service to/from Yankees-East 153rd Street with subway connections to the Lexington Ave. 4 train, D train or the 1 train at 225 St-Marble Hill Station.
  • Harlem Line customers can take train service to/from Wakefield Station with subway connections to the 2 train at 241st Street.
  • New Haven Line customers can take train service to/from Woodlawn Station with subway connections to 2 train and 5 train at 233rd Street.

New York transit will also honor Metro-North tickets at Grand Central Terminal, the Harlem-125th Street, and Bronx station.

Trains will not make stops from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm for customers at the Harlem-125th Street station.
