Arrest warrant issued for East Hartford murder suspect

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have obtained an arrest warrant for the man they say is responsible for the shooting death of an East Hartford man on Monday.

East Hartford police have obtained a murder warrant for 27-year-old Michael Gaston. Police say Gaston is responsible for the shooting death of 35-year-old Marshall Wiggins.

On Monday night, police responded to Rector Street for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found Wiggins inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Hartford Hospital where he died.

After an investigation, East Hartford police say they have identified Gaston as the suspect and have obtained a warrant, charging him with murder.

Police say Gaston is considered armed and dangerous.
