Arrest made for Norwich school threat

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)  –  A 14 year old has been arrested after police say he posted an online threat targeting the Kelly Middle School this morning.

Police are not identifying the boy because he is a juvenile but say he has been charged with breach of peace 2nd degree.

According to police they received information of a social media posting threatening in nature involving the Kelly Middle School but after being investigated by police along with the school resource officer it was determined there was no credible threat against the school or any students.

Norwich Police say the publics assistance is vital in helping keep schools and students safe and people should report any suspicious postings or comments that are read or heard to the police department.
