Stratford police identify motorcyclist in fatal crash

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Stratford police have released the identity of the motorcyclist killed after he lost control of his bike along Surf Avenue Monday evening.

According to officers, 33-year-old William Bailey III, of Bridgeport, was riding his motorcycle southbound on Surf Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Police investigation determined that Bailey was riding at a high rate of speed when he failed to navigate a turn in the road.

Bailey lost control of his motorcycle, striking a tree and a parked car. He was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hosptial.

Police tell News 8 that they have no indication that any other vehicles were involved in the crash. Officers are continuing their investigation.
