(WTNH) — After what has felt like a very cool and rainy spring, right in time for Memorial Day, Mother Nature has flipped to the summer season. These sounds are now being replaced by the hum of the AC unit.
And with hot temps comes high humidity and one of these, an air quality alert all across the state for today.
So what you should be doing or should not be doing on days like today.
So sitting down is going to help you feel a little bit less hot and moving yourself into the shade is going to do the same thing as well. The problem is, you are still outside, which means if you suffer from asthma, you will still have issues on days like today.
You probably face a similar issue that I do, your lawn is growing like crazy and you probably want to mow it but its not good to do it on air quality alert days. Its best to wait for a different day to go ahead and mow the lawn.
Now I know in weather like this, you want to spend as much time outside as you possibly can but if you do suffer from sensitivity in weather like this, truly the best thing that you can do is just spend as much time inside the house as possible especially during the day and especially during the warmest hours of the day.
While going inside is a good thing if you have central air conditioning, you are going to want to run it on days like this. If you do not have a central air conditioning unit, it may be a smart idea for you invest in some window units.
Make sure you also close the windows in your car and run the air conditioner there as well. If you can help prevent pollution, air quality will improve so if possible, share your ride to and from work on days like this.
