Man arrested in Torrington for threatening a business

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Officers in Torrington have arrested a man for threatening a business.

Police say Mathew Bartley went to Hartford Dispensary on Wednesday and made threatening statements that alarmed the employees.

Bartley was charged with breach of peace, threatening and weapons in a motor vehicle.

He was held on a $5,000 surety bond and will appear in Bantam Superior Court on May 26, 2016.

Detectives say they found parts firearms and other dangerous instruments in Bartley’s car.

Working firearms were found later that night in another location.
