PD: Man wanted for East Hartford murder arrested in Massachusetts

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — East Hartford police say the man wanted for a murder in East Hartford has been arrested.

On Saturday, police obtained an arrest warrant for 27-year-old Michael Gaston of Hartford, charging him with the murder of 35-year-old Marshall Wiggins.

On the night of May 16, police responded to a call of shots fired on Rector Street where they found Wiggins inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

On Thursday morning, police say Gaston was located and arrested in Clinton, Massachusetts. He is charged with murder, felony murder, first-degree robbery, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was taken into custody and is being held as a Fugitive from Justice without bail in Clinton, Mass. pending extradition.
