Man arrested, charged in grocery store burglary

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) – A man has been arrested and charged after attempting to burglarize the ALDI Grocery Store on Middle Street in Bristol.

According to Bristol Police, Derrell Tomberlin, 35, entered the store on Sunday through a back door.

The store was closed at the time, but employers were there working.

An employee heard a door alarm, found a rear door open and a man crouched inside of the building.

The man ran away but was later found by police.

The Bristol Police Department said Thompson gave officers a fake name, but he was identified by fingerprints.

Tomberlin was arrested and charged with burglary in the second degree and interfering with a police officer.
