Several Memorial Day events canceled due to weather

(WTNH) — There will be many events across the state on Monday to commemorate Memorial Day, but some have been canceled due to the weather.

Avon:
The Avon Memorial Day parade has been canceled due to the weather

Berlin:
The Berlin Memorial Day Parade is canceled, but the Memorial Day Program will still be held at the Berlin American Legion Post 68 on Porters Pass at 9 a.m.

Bethany:
The Bethany Memorial Day Parade has been canceled, but a ceremony will be held at Town Hall starting at 10:00 a.m.

Bloomfield:
The Memorial Day race and parade have been canceled due to the weather. The Memorial Day ceremony will be moved indoors to the Town Hall Council Chambers and will start at noon.

Branford:
The Branford Memorial Day Parade has been canceled because of the impending weather and the ceremonies have been moved to Branford High School where they will be held at 10:00 am in the gymnasium. All are welcome.

Clinton:
The Clinton Memorial Day Parade has been canceled.

Danbury:
The Memorial Day Parade will begin at the intersection of Rose Street and Main Street at promptly 9:30 a.m. The parade will conclude at Rogers Park where Parachutists will descend into the baseball field behind the Review Stand, and a ceremonial service will be held at the Rose Memorial.

East Hartford:
The East Hartford Memorial Day parade has been canceled.

East Haven:
The East Haven Memorial Day parade is canceled but ceremonies and programs will be held at the senior center / community center.

East Lyme:
East Lyme has canceled its parade due to the weather.

Ellington:
Two parades are on tap for the town of Ellington this Memorial Day. The first will begin at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Green Street and Route 140. This parade will conclude at the Crystal Lake Cemetery followed by a brief service.
Before the other parade in town, services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the High School. This parade is set to begin around 11:30 a.m., then proceed to the Ellington Green, and then the Ellington Cemetery for memorial tributes at each location.

Fairfield:
The Fairfield parade has been canceled.

Farmington:
The Farmington Memorial Day parade has been canceled.

Granby:
The Granby parade has been canceled.

Guilford:
The Guilford Memorial Day Parade has been canceled.

Hamden:
The Hamden Memorial Day Parade, scheduled to be held on Monday, May 30th, has been canceled due to inclement weather forecasts. Although the parade is canceled, a ceremony honoring Veterans will still be held inside the Hamden Middle School at 11 a.m. The address of Hamden Middle School is 2623 Dixwell Ave, Hamden CT 06518. All are welcome.

Hebron:
The Memorial Day parade has been canceled.

Madison:
The Town of Madison will hold its Annual Memorial Day Parade commencing at 10 a.m. The parade will begin on Route 1 from Samson Rock Drive to Janna’s Lane. Residents and motorists should expect delays until 1 p.m. and are advised to seek alternate routes during the parade.

Meriden:
Meriden will hold its Memorial Day Parade at 10 a.m. from Markham Place on Curtis Street. The route will then move to Broad Street and conclude at Meriden City Hall. A formal Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at City Hall following the conclusion of the parade. The theme for this year’s parade is, “Remembering our Veterans- All Wars.”

Middletown:
The City of Middletown and the Middletown Council of Veterans are sponsoring the Memorial Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. The parade will start at Spring and Main Street and continue to Union Green. A ceremony will be held after the parade at Union Green. The theme for the parade is, “Honoring Gulf War Veterans.”

Naugatuck:
The Naugatuck 2016 Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, May 30 2016. The parade will begin on North Main Street in the Union City section of the Borough and proceed to Calvin Street, to High St., to Oak St, to Maple St, to Old Firehouse Rd, a short distance on Rubber Ave, to Church Street and end in front of Town Hall.

New Britain:
New Britain will hold its Memorial Day Parade at Burritt and Broad Streets beginning at 6 p.m. The march will venture down Broad Street and make its way to Franklin Square in front of the New Britain Courthouse.

Noank:
The Noank Memorial Day parade is canceled.

Norwalk:
The Norwalk Memorial Day parade is canceled for Monday, May 30th. It will not be rescheduled.

Old Lyme:
Old Lyme will hosts its annual Memorial Day observance with a parade kicking off at 11 a.m. Lyme Street is set to be the start of the parade where it will proceed down to McCurdy Road with it concluding at Duck River Cemetery.

Old Saybrook:
The Dockside Ceremony at Saybrook Point and the Memorial Day Parade have been canceled. A Formal Memorial Day Program will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Saybrook Fire Department on Main Street.

Prospect:
The Prospect Memorial Day Parade has been canceled.

Ridgefield:
Monday’s Memorial Day parade in Ridgefield has been canceled due to expected bad weather.

Southbury:
Southbury has canceled its Memorial Day parade.

South Windsor:
South Windsor’s Memorial Day parade has been canceled. The ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park is still on.

Trumbull:
Trumbull’s annual Memorial Day parade scheduled for Monday has been canceled due to rain.

Watertown:
The Memorial Day parade scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday has been canceled.

West Hartford:
West Hartford holds its annual Memorial Day Parade at 10 a.m. Farmington Avenue and Woodrow Street intersection is the starting point for the parade. It will continue to work its way down on Farmington towards South Main Street. Conclusion of the parade is set for the Town Hall parking lot.

West Haven:
Due to the impending rainstorm, the West Haven Memorial Day parade has been postponed to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 5th.

Westport:
The Memorial Day Parade for the town of Westport has been canceled.

Windsor:
A ceremony is set to begin Memorial Day activities in the town of Windsor at 8 a.m. at the Elm Grove Cemetery. This will be followed by another ceremony at Veteran’s Cemetery at 9 a.m. A Memorial Day Parade will move to the Windsor Town Hall down Poquonock Avenue. One last ceremony will be held at Town Hall following the parade at 10 a.m.
In case of rain, there will be a ceremony held in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 10 a.m.
