CT Science Center and Miracle League of CT makes sure all kids can play

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) –  Every child deserves the chance to play. The Miracle League of CT and the CT Science Center have partnered to create sensory-friendly games for children with certain special needs.

Some exhibits might have an adverse effect on a child. “When they go into an atmosphere like that it can be overwhelming with the lights and the sounds… It quiets it down a little bit… It makes it a little more comfortable with that,” said Scott Franklin, co-founder of the Miracle League of CT.

The next Sensory Friendly day at the CT Science Center will be held on Saturday June 18th from 9am -12.  Special discounted pricing is available on the CT Science Center Website at www.ctsciencecenter.org

The Miracle League of CT provides recreational opportunities for children with special needs and their families. The Miracle League of CT was founded in 2010 and opened the accessible baseball field in 2012.  Since then they have added the scope of programming to include the iCan Bike camp, adapted swimming lessons, many single day special events and our annual trick or treat event which is a huge hit.
