Teen arrested in connection with Stamford car theft

GREENWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in the theft of at least one car.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, a patrolling police officer spotted a car stolen from Stamford traveling without headlights on Hamilton Avenue in Greenwich. The driver sped off and crashed.

The driver and a passenger ran off. While officers searched for them, a neighbor noticed that their Range Rover was missing. An officer found the Range Rover, which then lead police on pursuit, but the chase was called off because it was too dangerous.

Officers continued to search for the other suspect. A person noticed a suspicious person near their house and called police, who arrested him. He’s charged as a juvenile with first-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trover, and interfering with police.
