PD looking for suspicious male who chased Bristol 12-year-old

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — Bristol police are asking for helping finding a man who followed a 12-year-old girl on Friday.

Just after 4 p.m. Friday, Bristol police say they received a suspicious persons complaint near Concord and Fairfield Streets. Police say a 12-year-old girl was walking her dog near the intersection when a man in a red pick-up truck stopped and made a comment to her. The girl said she did not understand the comment because it sounded like a foreign language. The girl ignored the man and he continued driving on Fairfield Street.

Soon after, the girl was walking on Concord Street when the truck began to slowly follow her. The girl then started to run back toward her Henderson Street home. The man got out of his pick-up truck and started to chase her. He eventually got back in his truck and left the area.

Police are trying to identify the driver.

The truck is described as a newer model, full-size, red pick-up truck with silver bumpers and side steps. The driver is described as an older white man with brown hair with gray streaks, average height and weight, wearing small round eyeglasses. He was wearing a gray shirt at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (860)584-3000.
