Bridgeport man died in weekend motorcycle accident

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — The man who died in a weekend motorcycle crash in Bridgeport has been identified as a city resident.

Police say 28-year-old Darryl Norris died in the crash at about 5:45 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators say Norris was riding north on Newfield Avenue near Beardsley Street when he apparently lost control and crashed onto the sidewalk and metal fence.

Norris was not wearing a helmet and suffered massive head trauma. He was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital.

No one else was hurt.

The cause remains under investigation.
