Groton, Conn (WTNH) — The Navy is set to host Battle of Midway Commemoration and wreath laying ceremony on Monday, June 6.
This is in celebration of the 74th anniversary of the Battle of Midway.
Back in 1942, just six months after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, the Battle of Midway was a turning point for American forces during the second world war.
On Monday, Naval Submarine School Executive Officer, Commander Dave Grogan, will be the featured speaker.
The event is set to start at noon at the submarine force library and museum in Groton. Weather permitting a wreath will be laid in the Thames River to honor the fallen.
