NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven Police  are looking for two men early Wednesday morning.  Police say at 12:41 a.m. they were called to Clay and Filmore Streets for what was reported as an attempted armed robbery.  When police got there they found a 20 year old man on the sidewalk.  He told the officers two men had tried robbing them, and beat him up.  They didn’t get any of his valuables.

As the victim was being loaded in an ambulance he told the officers he thinks he recognizes his attackers from seeing him at a recent shooting scene.  He says he thinks the beating wasn’t random.  Police are investigating.
