NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven police are looking for two men who roughed up another man during an attempted robbery. It happened early Monday morning on Williams Street near Bradley. A 56-year-old man says he was punched!

He told police he was taking a walk when he spotted two thin black men and an Hispanic man approaching him. He said the men grabbed him, pushed him to the ground and punched him several times. He said they went through his pockets but he had nothing in them so the would-be robbers took off toward Lyon Street.

The Hispanic man wore a yellow hooded sweatshirt. One of the black men wore a red hooded sweatshirt and the other, a grey hooded sweatshirt. They were all about 5’09”.

Police canvassed the area but did not locate them.
