Groton Police Arrest N.Y. Man Using Fraudulent Credit Cards

GROTON (WTNH) — A 24-year-old New York man was arrested for allegedly using fake credit cards at a WalMart in Groton.

Groton police say around 4:30p.m. Thursday afternoon police were called to the WalMart on Gold Star Highway where a man was allegedly using a face credit card. Police say witness saw the suspect jump into a car and take off. That same car suspected in similar crimes was seen driving North East.

According to police when they tried approaching the car, the suspect took off at a high rate of speed and turned into the Copp Property Dog Park. Police say that’s when the two suspects inside took off on foot.

With the assistance of multiple police departments they were able to arrest Kashif Louissaint of Brooklyn New York.

He is charged with Criminal Attempt larceny and attempt illegal use of a credit card.

The second suspect has yet to be arrested.
