STONINGTON (WTNH) — As many of us head out to the beach this weekend it is important that safety comes first. The New England science and sailing festival in Stonington is all about today.

New England Science and Sailing is an ocean adventure nonprofit organization that engages students and experiential learning to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Safety on the water is one of our number one priorities. NESS teaches students of all ages how to be responsible citizens, how to care for marine life, and take necessary precautions on the water. We are a certified powerboat training center, US sailing community center, and people can earn their safe boaters license with NESS.

NESSFest as an annual celebration to introduce nest two new families and individuals who want to get on the water.

Last year, we more than 4700 students through our summer programs and academic programs with over 100 schools and organizations.

To kick off the start of the 10 weeks of summer programs for kids ages 4-17, the annual NESSFest is this Saturday, June 18, from 11am-3pm at 72 Water Street in Stonington, CT.
