Cruisin’ Connecticut – Best Waffles in Connecticut?

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – This week, we’re featuring the “Best of Connecticut!” Today, we’re Cruisin’ Connecticut to New Haven, to dig into some of Connecticut’s best waffles!

The Belgian waffle was originally known as a Brussels waffle, invented in 1839. 177 years later it’s still a family favorite at the breakfast table.

We stopped by Atelier Florian with Chef Brook to see how to make an authentic Belgian waffle! Chef says:

Belgium Waffles are not the same as we have Belgium Waffles in America. It’s usually just a breakfast combination like a pancake. Over there it’s a street food. So it’s more like funnel cake I would say. Powdered sugar cake. So it’s more hands on, little snacks that you could bite into.

So now is your chance to chime in… what’s the best breakfast spot in Connecticut?
