One dead after Enfield fire

ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Enfield firefighters are reporting that one person is dead after a fire on Garden Street on Tuesday evening.

Members of the Enfield Fire Department were dispatched to 19 Garden Street around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, after a report of a fire was called in. Enfield’s Public Information Officer Mark Zarcaro says that although it only took firefighters a few minutes to knock down the fire after arriving, one person has been confirmed dead.

The scene was cleared within a few hours, although the Fire Marshal was investigating until after 10 p.m.

There were no other injuries reported. It is unclear whether or not any other residents were displaced from the home, and Zarcaro says it will take a few days to determine the cause of death, and the cause of the fire.
