Police: Stolen gun, drugs found in New London home

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — A New London man has been arrested after police say they found a stolen gun and drugs in his home.

Police served a search warrant Thursday morning at James Bowers’s home on Lincoln Avenue. They say a stolen .45 caliber handgun, 121 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $2,580 cash were found inside.

The 30-year-old is charged with operating a drug factory, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, criminal possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on $300,000 bond.

Police say Bowers has been convicted on firearms charges in the past and is not allowed to own guns.
