Church youth minister arrested for sex with minor

Lionel McFadden, 27, of Hamden, arrested for sexual assault.

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police arrested a Hamden man who volunteers at a local church as a “youth minster”, for allegedly having sexual relations with a minor.

According to police, 27 year-old Lionel McFadden turned himself into police Thursday. The Special Victims Unit conducted the investigation, which led to an arrest warrant for McFadden.

The investigation began in April into a sexual assault that happened on Warren Street, the street McFadden lives on.

McDonell has been charged with second degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He is due in Meriden court on July 14.
