Meriden police make arrest in stabbing

(WTNH)– The Meriden Police Department has made an arrest in the stabbing that occurred early Monday morning just before 5 a.m.

Police arrested 53-year-old Rena Fontaine for assault to the second degree, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment to the second degree and risk of injury to a minor.

The stabbing took place around 338 Cook Avenue off of New Hanover Ave. in Meriden.

Police say the charges stem from a domestic incident involving her spouse at which time a child was present.

Police are not releasing the name of the man, but say he was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
