Bridgeport woman arrested for drugs, guns

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — State Police arrested a Bridgeport woman after police found drugs and guns during a search and seizure at her home on Wednesday.

At around 5 a.m., police executed a search and seizure warrant at 49 year-old Miriam Almourtada-Cotto’s home on Bell Street. According to state police, Almourtada-Cotto was allegedly selling prescription pills. She lives with 1500 feet of Harding High School.

Investigators discovered hundreds of prescription pills and a number of handguns and rifles in her home, police said. Almourtada-Cotto was arrested, booked, and then released after posting bond pending her court date.

Almourtada-Cotto is due in Bridgeport Superior Court on July 27.
