AKRON, OH (WCMH) — An Ohio toddler is getting international attention for training just like Rocky Balboa.
Two-year-old Charlie first watched the iconic training scene from “Rocky II” about nine months ago.
Then after watching his dad work out at home, the toddler put two and two together and started asking his parents to “train like Rocky.”
He has the whole routine down perfectly.
So his mom captured the moment on her cell phone earlier this month—and it went viral.
Charlie’s dad Zack Magilavy tells NBC4 the response has been “exciting” but overwhelming. The video has been viewed millions of times on Facebook and Youtube. It even found its way to Sylvester Stallone himself!
Magilavy says he hopes his son stays with his love of exercise and grows up to be an active kid.
The Magilavy family is already familiar with the spotlight. They own the popular downtown Akron eatery The Diamond Deli. It’s locally famous for its creations named after family, friends, employees and champions.
The restaurant named a menu item for LeBron James when he announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers two years ago. Then in 2015 they created the “Dellavedova Wrap” for former Cavs guard Matthew Dellavedova’s performance in the NBA Finals. And just last month, the “It’s Finally Next Year!” wrap was unveiled after the Cavaliers NBA championship.
Magilavy says now there’s a concoction in the works for Ohio’s littlest champion, Charlie.
