I-95 reopens in Branford after crash, highway still congested

BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– I-95 northbound has reopened in Branford after a multi-vehicle accident, but the highway remains congested Saturday afternoon.

The Department of Transportation reports that I-95 northbound was closed between exits 51 and 53 because a multi-vehicle crash that happened around 1 p.m. The highway is still congested between 51 and 56.  The southbound side is also congested in Branford and Guilford between exits 58 and 55.

There is no word on the cause of the crash or if anyone was injured at this time.

The accident took less than an hour to clear.
